Lately, when not working on a specific project for someone, I've been creating glass fusions in the kiln. The fusions are created in the kiln, then bonded to European crystal vases, candle holders and window panels.
I've also had good success mosaicing zinc planters - they last well indoors or in a sunroom. Outdoors, over a wet, cold winter the zinc just doesn't last as long as the mosaic! The Terra Cotta planter was a lesson - after the owner left it outside, on the North side of their home through a series of winters. Even though the planter was labeled Frost Proof and was completely sealed prior to mosaicing, the mosaic did again live longer than the planter itself.
